Default What effect would two degree retard or advance have on my b1 cam???

I put in my b1 cam and it seems to be working great..but I also put in comp cams /cloyes adjustable timing set and didn't quite understand the thing ..the instructions in the box were clear enough but didn't notice the further instructions on the back of the box..kind of dumb place to put them if you ask me..should have had them all together..I know I did the allen key thing correct..just set it to zero position but now I read that the three keyways on the crank sprocket can cause 2 degrees advance or retard
depending on which keyway and mark you use..I am almost certain I used the round dot so if that is so then would be at zero advance on the crank sprocket also..but in the off chance that I did put it in the 2 degrees advanced or 2 degrees retarded position what would happen..is it catastrophic or just get a bit more low end or a bit more top end..right now the car seems to pull real hard..it seems to come in strong around 2500 or so and stays very strong thru to 6600 where my hpp is set right now until I get ls1 edit..I will be putting a new pulley on the car..likely ati soon and will take off timing cover for a peak and I guess if necessary pull off oil pump and
redo crank sprocket if necessary..but if the effect of this 2 degrees advance or retard is actually pretty mild or maybe even beneficial then will leave it alone. So whats the deal here.???

Wow, I came a hair of install taht cloyes adjustable like you had. I am glad we didn't though, just swapped chains and went on. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I would guess the difference would be very mild. I personally wouldn't go back in and reset it if I had done that.

TTT Let someone else get a shot on this that knows more.

I think it just shifts your powerband. advance it, it moves the powerband lower. retard it well you get the idea.

That's all.
