John,

I'm just curious, but are you running LS1 Edit yet? The reason I ask is because I'd be very interested if you'd pick up some HP by reducing your overall timing. 31 degrees is a lot for a super-stroker!

The 6.0L head cores can be had for $450 while the you'd be lucky to find a set of LS6 cores for less than $1000.

From what I hear the 6.0L heads aren't that bad compared to the LS6 heads. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Trevor, we did about 6 pulls the final nite of tuning. Have been using LS1 Edit.

Because I had asked a few shops what timing they use at WOT, we dropped the timing from 31 to 28. Car lost HP not a huge amount it was like 5rwhp.

I wish some of you folks knew how much timing you have...

I did not do LS6 heads due to cost but I'd like to have a set of raceported ones since I have enuff bore to utilize the flow... And I will be dynotesting a custom intake in two weeks.

1) What is your engine combo, bore and stroke?

ARE Resleeved 436ci LS1 (4.1 bore x 4.125 stroke) with Forged everything, ARP Head Studs, ARE Custom Main Studs

3) Dyno #'s on pump gas?

480rwhp / 495rwtq on Sunoco Ultra 94 Gas

4) What cam?

240/240 .608/.608 114LSA

5) What heads?

ARE Stage III w/ 2.08/1.60 valves and Dual Valvespring Setup

6) How much timing advance at WOT?

Dyno was done with 22 degrees at WOT but it is now at 24 degrees

7) Where did you make peak HP?

At 5800rpm. My 1 5/8" TTS Headers are probably holding back the peak power.

8) Best ET and/or MPH for the roadracers?

First time out: 11.68 @ 122mph w/ 1.907 60'

9) Goals for 2002?

Lotsa roadracing and autocrossing, maybe a few more 1/4 mile passes near the end of the year where it doesn't matter as much if I kill the clutch. Rollcage, Larger headers and 3" Xpipe are the plans for the fall/winter.

This is my first project of any kind, it will be a steet car only, might see the track once or twice.

1) What is your engine combo, bore and stroke?
(ARE 436, don't know the details)

2) Dyno #'s? Locked/unlocked?
(Don't know yet, hoping for 470/470)

3) Dyno #'s on pump gas?
(same as #2)

4) What cam?
(227/227, I think)

5) What heads?
(ST III)

6) How much timing advance at WOT?
(Don't know yet)

7) Where did you make peak HP?
(Don't know yet)

8) Best ET and/or MPH for the roadracers?
(I hope it go's 10's, but low 11's will
be fine)

9) Goals for 2002?
(Get used to this one, then have a super-
charged super-stroker built by the end of the
year. ARE builds an F-1 package for the
F-Body that I may be interested in. Depends
on cash though!)
