5.3 heads not trying to beat a dead horse but......
just got done with my brothers car, hotcam and a vig2800 (all my old stuff) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> and was wondering if a set of stock 5.3s would help him out any,he will be heavy on the bottle.no plans to go any bigger just want the extra comp. even though the valves are smaller, with the .525 lft hotcam he shouldnt see nush of a diffrece right?

Re: 5.3 heads to answer your question, no.
The 5.3L heads have smaller runners and smaller valves. They are not going to give you enough HP stock to get a gain from the higher compression. In fact I would bet your HP would be lower. They are a great place to start when it comes to ported heads though.
