Default Should I put a converter in my piston slap SS

Ive got a Vig 3200 sitting in the garage right now that Im dying to put in.My car has 8400 miles on it and it has had piston slap since day one.If I put the converter in do you think they could deny a repair of the pison slap problem if and when they come up with a solution? I know someone is thinking they cant deny a repair for a part that is not related, but in a way it is related the converter is like 20# lighter than stock so they could say "that converter is changing the engine harmonics" or some BS.

Should I just say screw it and put it in or is this a legit concern?

The dealership here is giving me crap for a cutout, and said subframes would void my warranty. Most dealers are idiots, and many will just look for the slightest reason to void your warranty, so I would probably wait.

I would put it in.There is no way a converter can cause piston slap.Of course when they give you a new motor just tell them to put that converter in the car instead of the stock one.

I would wait if you're looking to have the slap fixed. With that kind of job/cost, they're going to be very nitpicky. My SS has piston slap, but I don't give a crap. It's making some nice power.

WTF: the general needs to come up with a solution for this piston slap shiznit. Im in the same boat as you man. I'm sittin on a 3:42 rear, hooker LT's, ASP underdrive, LS1 lid,VIG 3200, and a buttload of laughin gas just waitin for them to fix my crap. Now the thing is steadily gettin worse, even started makin some upper rpm noise now. I didnt have that before just the slap and a wicked vibration.
Oh yeah get the ad for the precision converter outta GM high tech saying "DOES NOT VOID FACTORY WARRANTY", or you could look up the Magnusson-Moss warranty law or whatever that stuff is, also look up SEMA. dont let em get ya man if the converter is all you got i'd say give em heck, me on the other hand its all or nothing.
