Default Lets See the BIG CAM dyno Graphs!

How about a couple MMS/TR/X-ER 224 Cams, TR230/224, TR227/224, MMS 229, MMS 232, MTI X1, and some ARE split patterns. How come we haven't seen the graph of the MT1 X1 yet? I'm anxiously awaiting.

I would like to see where they all peak and if we can extrapolate a reasonable rule of thumb for what additional duration, different lobe seperations, and degrees of camshaft advance do to the power curve.

Terry lets see your before/after Meziere, and how about that MMS 232/232. Nineball I know you have the MTI X1. Jason you have Thunders on stock heads. Patrick G how about yours?

I don't have a scanner for my graph, so I just took a dig. pic of it. It's a little fuzzy, but you can see the #'s. The first dyno was 350 RWHP through the dual/dual and unlocked converter, the second pull was 361 RWHP w/ the cutout open and converter unlocked, and the 379.9 RWHP was with the cutout open and converter locked. This is the Comp XE-R 224/224, .581"/.581", 112 LSA, and the converter is a Yank PT4400. The cam has two degrees of advance ground into it, and it was installed straight up. All pulls were through 3.73's. The cam is pretty tame IMO, and streetability is awesome. With the converter and cam swap, I saw an additional 46 RWHP unlocked and 47 RWHP locked. The pulls w/ stock internals were through 3.23's, FWIW.

Terry,

I've given you plenty of cam information (cough...G5). How about a dyno picture of that 420RWHP stock headed MMS229 cam car, yours, and the 232??? And I don't mean a picture of it on the dyno.

Here's mine: www.converter.cc/TR230-224dyno.jpg This is a printout of the TR 230/224 111LSA cam vs. the TR 224/224 112LSA cam. The line of the bigger cam was broken, but you can see the much stronger pull above peak hp of the "reverse split" cam.

Sorry, I don't know how to post the picture. I promise to get a better dyno printout in the near future. Keep in mind my car is an automatic.

Are we really considering a cam with 224 intake duration "big"? I should have a dyno of a 231 cam by this weekend though

Sounds fair enough Terry. Remember I've seen them before so I'll know if something funny is going on. I just thought I'de give you a chance to plug "MMS" again. If you can get the MMS 224V1 compared to the MMS224V3 or MMS229, that would be a HUGE bonus. I'de have to buy you a beer with the $49 I won from Bakersfield. LOL!

Keep the dyno graphs coming! I'll search around and pull some off older threads.

I finally got my check for $14. Just throw the 229v2.1 cam in your car with some comp 918s/ti retainers. Easy .15th pickup I bet.

I was surprised to see the 224 mentioned after reading the "BIG CAM" topic. He asked for it, so I posted it. Let us know how the new cam works out.

You're probably right, a good cam will pick up .15. The reason I mentioned the 224 was for sake of comparison. I've got the ORIGINAL MMS224 with .535 and the 224 has pretty much become the "compare all" cam.
