Anyone know maximum bore for 6.0L block?

Re: Anyone know maximum bore for 6.0L block? Thanks Jason....guess the 5.3L block has much more meat on it. My 5.3 is bored about .120 over and has seen 200-shots with no issues.

Re: Anyone know maximum bore for 6.0L block? Reckless.... I have seen big blocks bored .120 with blowers on top of them. BUT it is not nessarily righteoius to do that. That is like betting 1000 bucks in a poker game and your trying to win with an 8 3 5 4 and a Jack... In other words its just a gamble that isn't worth it.

Re: Anyone know maximum bore for 6.0L block? Nick Agostino said the 5.3 can handle that kind of overbore. Said they have tested the blocks and there was plenty of meat left even at .120 over. I trusted Nick and have never had problems with the block. I have ran upwards of 15psi with the turbo and up to 250hp shots of N2O a few times. Still just fine.
I guess the only options for increasing cid are forged crank (stroker $$$) or resleeving (big $$$). Too bad there are no low cost options.

Anyone know maximum bore for 6.0L block? I was thinking about an all-bore nitrous motor using the stock crank and a 4.110 bore on the iron block. This would net a 389cid motor for the Pontiac (kinda nostalgic) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Anyone know maximum bore for 6.0L block? Todd, most people go .030 with the iron 6.0l blocks. However, I have seen some as much as .060. This is about the most I would personally go, but I would only use it for n/a use. Since you plan to spray, .030 would be the most IMHO.
