Default Opinions on these intake ports

Bought these heads off Ebay. They're supposed to be ported and look like it to me because I think I see "machine swirls" in the ports. I just wanted confirmation from someone who knew because this is my first set of LS1 heads. I just thought the ports were a little skinny to have been ported.

I suggest posting more pictures from inside the ports showing the valve guides and also inside the exhaust ports (with aiming a light on them for the picture if no flash) and if the valves are not there a pic from the bottom of the valve locations showing the inside of the port from there to help better tell if they were ported and what experienced people might say.

Yep, what he said. Theres more to porting a head than the intake runner.

OK here's a couple more. Camera is not that great and one has a glare on it but probably tells a better story. I just didn't have anything (stock) to compare these heads to. I can see where they've been worked some.

I thought they looked handported too. They actually feel very smooth vs what they look like.

They looked good from the pics that were in the listing but who would I have ask? You can't post Ebay auctions on the forum unless they're your own. I thought it looked like a good deal so like I said I took a chance. Even after getting them I couldn't tell a whole lot about them cuz I never had any LS heads before. That's why I posted. LT1 heads, I can tell quite about about them. After looking at my LS heads, I realized I didn't know much so that's why I am asking now.

It looks like a stock head someone hit with a cartirdge roll and threw on ebay to make some quick money. The intake runner looks untouched as well as the exhaust. They didn't even take the rocker arm bump out of the intake. I honestly wouldn't spend money getting them flowed if the obvious things are not done, then the port work you can't see probably wasn't done either.

Sorry man, but I think you've been had.

Yeah, you have probably screwed yourself honestly. I home ported a set of LT1 heads once and the car made pretty good power (380 rwhp) with a cam and exhaust, maybe you'll get lucky and make around 400 with a cam/intake/exhaust?

Sorry.

Just hand port them yourself for the cost of the equipment. Those will flow very near stock as of now. You could also send them out to someone like Patriot Performance for CNC'ing. Good luck man.

I was wanting to run these with my turbo build. Although you don't have to have the best head for FI, I'm not going to run them yet. First LS project going downhill already.

Those have too much compression with the 243 for FI man. You should look at some 6.0L heads.

They're 241's. With a 28cc dished piston and a .053" gasket, they yield CR in the low 8's.

Ohh ok...my bad, you didn't mention what casting you had. Yes, those look like stock valves.
