Hammer cam or TR224

which is better <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

i cant decide between the hammer and the TR224/224 114

i want something that will get me a easy 3tenths on the track but i dont want to have major idle issues. Though i have edit so i can bump it up easy!

any major difference in the 2?

the 114 of the thunder should aid in idling...but the C2 is raughammers cam and works well in his A4 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

anyone know what he dropped NA and then with the C2?

Mine is near identical to the "C2". Mine is the XE-R 224 on a 112 LSA with two degrees of advance ground into it vs. MTI's XE-R 224 with four degrees ground in. I bought mine from Speed Inc., and it's definitely working well for me! I have mine idling at 825 in gear, and it works very well. I was shocked at how streetable the cam is! The XE-R 224 can be had on the LSA of your choice, so you can get it on a 114 LSA if you're worried with idle. With the cam and converter swap (Vig 3200 to PT4400), I saw an additional 46 RWHP unlocked and 47 RWHP locked.

i got the 224 112 and it idoled with a little surge but it did idol that was before edit. jasons gona help me get it purring tonight.

I gained 3 mph by swapping my 218/224 - 528/535 cam for the TR-224 cam. It's one thing to gain 3 mph when swapping from a STOCK cam...but to do it when swapping out a proven, aftermarket cam is amazing!

The funny thing, is that before the swap, people told me that I would probably only gain 5-6 hp. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

The TR-224 is a VERY nice cam.

what valve springs pushrods did you get with the cam?
