Terry
You are looking for every bit of power you can get, I believe? With the intake on the ls6 heads flow a little better from 600" on up. Without intake they do much better. We need a better intake. Big news, right.

The springs in my current heads are 941s and they have never broken. I think they are magical.

So Max I'm finally going to have a set of "special" heads/cam in my car, just like the Cartek cars! I wonder if I'll pick up over my off the shelf MMS parts? I'm shooting for another 25-30rwhp from 5500-7400rpm.

though I think a number of interesting topics have been ruined by the "devils" advocate approach Terry, this is hard to say, I don't see an inconsistancy here. I would not spend money for ls6 heads, unless my cam was .600+ or a better flowing intake was available. LS6 heads without intake flow better from .500" and up. Good luck with that lift. You should have a lot of torque up high. I hope it holds together. Can't wait to see your charts?

Looks like your current H/C is much more "special" than you had led everyone to believe.

I'm doing exactly what Cartek does, building a one off high performance setup. I'm only doing the intake valves, which will be in the $600 price range. When its all said and done the complete set of heads is going to cost less than the Cartek heads with much better parts.

Terry.

Just to clarify son-of-Julio, Terry's current heads are like $1800 Stage 2 5.3L heads with NON-titanium 2.02/1.57 valves and 941's.

Good luck to you terry. Now how are you gonna fit 2.1" intake valves in?

After months of arguing that LS6 heads are a waste of $, you finally give in. I guess all of your arguments in the past were BS. Are you going to use a set of MMS springs?

I found out what MMS stands for:

Mediocre
Made
Springs

I argue for fun. I don't always take the side I believe in, its good law practice.

RE: the LS6 heads my belief is for lifts > .600 and/or rwhp > 475 I think they are a good choice.

RE: MMS' springs, they will sell you whatever springs you'd like.
