Lower lift and longer duration??
From reading the post on PTV clearance on the 230/224 cam, I was wondering (on stock headed
applications) if the lift was bumped down to hotcam levels (.525 or so) how much more could
we get on duration? 234? 240? Would there be a power increase or would it stay the same?
Is power more dependant on lift or duration? Just tossing some ideas out. Id love to see a
425-450hp stock headed car, even if its idle was less that savory. Cam gurus, any input?

Re: Lower lift and longer duration??
max lift has nothing to do with PV clearance. its the duration only...as the valve starts coming off the seat on a high duration camshaft, it can start getting rather close to the piston...regardless of lift

LS plays a role too, although I forgot which way it works. Is it less LS = more PV clearance in general? How about a 242/242 .600 .600 106ls camshaft?
