yeah...spark plugs are out...now to figure out what bolts to use with tool...

We will be using both tdc method and a straw to make sure pistons are TDC

well everything is ready.. and need to change the springs.... but the stupid crane tool came with nothing to secure it... all it came with was the all threadbolt that u use to compress the tool... but no two bolts to insert in the rocker bolt hole....and a few three lug nuts.... and alil washer looking thing.. but thats it.

4 springs down...14 to go... then reassembly. Crane cams didnt send the needed bolts with the valve compressor tool...so we had to make many trips everywhere to get grade 8 bolts the same size as the ones used. So far so good. Hope its home free from here....

dam i am dead beat tired!!!! these springs are NOT FUN!!! at all... i couldnt even imagine not having this crane tool that changes two at a time... it would also defenatly help if they would have sent me the dam bolts to bolt it down... i had to customize.. and even worse.. the lil nuts they give you arnt worth a ****... i stripped one and the second one is starting to... i need to see if i can find some grade eight ones... but other than that the install is coming along slowly but surely... thank god.... so far the TDC method has been workiing out nicely... tomorrw i should defenatly get here running.. i got 8 springs on.. so that leaves eight more... one more hard piston "7" and the others should be pretty easy cuz there in the open.. piston 8 was a bitch!!! man im sure praying tomorrow when i crank it i get oil pressure, and got the timing rite... the o-ring seem to go in smoothly.. and everything..so im pretty sure its fine.. and the timing chain i just got them dot to dot.. and so far with the tdc method it seems like i got it rite.. so i hope so.. even tho im going through all this trouble.. im happy im doing it myself.. im learning alot bout my car... and when i get her all done im sure ima be proud to say i DID IT!!! TAKE THAT U ****** PICK UP TUBE BOLT!!!! lol hahaha... well im off to bed.. im ****** tired.. and gotta get up early to finish those other springs.. gotta head over to advanced or ace hardware for some better hardcore bolts!

thanks for all the support guys! you have all been a great help! and have kept me motivated in finishing this install

Almost there man......get a sound clip!!!!

Some advice...We started mine and my buddies before we installed the radiator to make sure we had oil pressure, less stuff to tear down incase u have to go back in.

well 219846519846319684651987 cuss words, 50 million gazillion painful cuts, sore body, 50 million trips to advanced auto, o'rielys, auto zone, and home depot later.. the cam is now in.. and sounds so bad ***.. revs nice.. i didnt rev it over 2k or fast.. just slow revs.. omg i just love the way it sounds... sounds sweet at idle.. i already got a ****** noise complaint! lol stupid neighbors!!! i can get it to idle.. and was able to back it off the ramps and but now i cant keep her alive when i try to get her in drive... or in other words move her.. dam i want to drive her so bad... the install... wasnt as hard as i expected.. dont get me wrong its hard, and lots of attention and time is needed esspecially when its ur first time... but its defenatly worth doing it urself, and learning bout ur car... the pick up tube was hard.. but not that bad.. i had more trouble with other stuff... its all just time consuming really... an open ratchet 10mm wrench is a must! makes life alot easier. one thing i recomend to people doin cam swaps... if u want the double roller and are doubtful cuz people say its a nitemare to install with oil pump.. its not really that bad.. and looks bad *** one u got it on.. i found it easy.. to get the pick up tube tightened but not all the way.. than slip the shims in the back on...tighten the pick up tube than the oil pump bolts...also defenatly get the fishing line.. saved my *** soooooooo many times.. and also the pen magnets are a mans best tool when changin springs.. or basically anything when ur working on a car.. like u drop a bolt.. or cant get something that fell cuz ur hands are to big... it was defenatly an expierience.. and im proud that i was able to get it all together. and didnt blow up my car!

and yes i kno i kno..sound clip! lol.. dont worry i as much as u do want to get one.. anyone know how to edit? i wanna get a nice lil video of my car with a song and pics and stuff.. ima see if my friend will let me borrow her camera so i can record a vid and upload it to my computer...

special thanks to everyone that helpped! i couldnt have done it without you guys.. defenatly got me thorough it.. and also that ls1how to is the bible! great write up... ima do the throttle body thing tomorrow to try and see if i can keep her alive and drive her... well im off to bed.. got work tomorrow... but ill be online tomorrow at work!

dam i love the way the cam sounds!
