I just got a new TC put in my TH400 setup....I noticed on the way back that smoke was coming up from under the car...I stopped and looked under and it seemed to be coming from both ends of the off road pipe...then today on the way home from work, my friend was driving behind me and once again the smoke came up, and it came up from the same spot as before, but then the white smoke started pouring out of the cut out (we think) or it could of been the smoke being pushed back by the air of the cutout...

I am not burning any oil...

I haven't checked the coolant yet because the car is still hot....

My trans does leak a lot usually....could it be drops flying over to the exhaust and burning off???

White smoke is either coolant burning or power steering or aft burning... If the smoke smells sweet, then its coolant.. If not.. it could be excess trans fluid that got on your y-pipe.. Its happened to me before.. Get under there and check for leaks from the tranny.. since you just worked on it.

 

ATF will smoke white. Is your tranny leaking?

I finally got access to a lift last night, and I wasn't really suprised...whole entire exhaust was coated in burnt tranny fluid, the drops were flying off the bottom and just going straight towards the trans....
