well ive pretty much got it narrowed down to XE-R lobes but i don't see the need for the reverse split design you suggested. i thought those were for cars with a better flowing intake than exhaust system?

That is not reverse split. It is 226° Intake 230° Exhaust. That is traditional split.
If you don't need a split at all, go with a 226° or 228° straight cam on a 110° +2°.

after research im becoming interested in the first cam hammer suggested.
0.006 0.050 0.200
Intake Duration - ID 277 227 153 LSK
Exhaust Duration - ED 281 231 156 LSK
Lobe Center Angle - LCA 109 109 109
Intake Centerline - ICL 107 107 107

Intake Valve opens - IVO 31.5 6.5 -30.5 BTDC (- indicates ATDC)
Intake Valve closes - IVC 65.5 40.5 3.5 ABDC
Exhaust Valve Opens - EVO 71.5 46.5 9 BBDC
Exhaust Valve Closes - EVC 29.5 4.5 -33 ATDC (- indicates BTDC)
Exhaust Centerline - ECL 111 111 111
Overlap 61 11 -63.5 degrees
Are there any negatives anyone can bring up about this cam?

I can't take credit for that, it was 1CAMWNDR's suggestion. I myself am pretty well sold on an LSK 228/232 110+0 grind when the time comes for me.

That cam will be very streetable. Buy some really good springs and they should last 10K or more.

Thanks.
Spring life on the new Patriot Gold Extreme springs should be a lot better than 10K miles. I wouldn't even bother checking untill 20K. If you are still uncomfortable, get one of the similar XE-R cams and use the Patriot Gold springs.

I thought i read somewhere that there wasn't a substantial difference in spring life between the xer and lsk lobes.

This is gonna be a peaky cam as it is exhaust biased from TDC and with 40.5 IVC it will have a early peak around 6000 or so.
I would keep it on a XE-R exhaust lobe, like this:

227/232, .639/.595 110+2 LSA

Why not just call Comp and order it himself?

I thought the early IVC event is wanted for torque.

Closing the valve early increases torque by keeping dynamic compression up. You could mill more, but at some point PTV clearance may become a concern with stock castings. You can get the cam to peak a little higher by not advancing it, but your low end will suffer some what.

Best of both worlds involves flycutting to clear the cam with the VE's you want, then getting the gasket that gives the quench you want, then getting the combustion chamber the size required for the DCR you want when it is all said and done.
