Default Cam setup.

I am buying an Ed Curits grind cam 224/228 .590/.590 113, these were the specs I was given by the seller. Assuming there is no advance ground in I will end up with a ~7.98 DCR. Is there room for improvement? I would like peak around 6k since I have a 98 car.

I would be willing to bet there is some advance ground into it, probably between 2 and 4 degrees. Room for improvement? With this cam or another?

I contacted Cartek, they say its one of their cams and they grind no advance into their cams. I was wondering how much I could advance the cam to get the DCR up.

I think I'm going to send it to Thunder Racing and have them run it through the Cam Doctor so I can see exactly what it is.

Use a dcr calculator to figure out where it needs to be, and degree it in yourself when you install it. You could also consider shaving your heads a little or using thinner head gaskets to get the dcr up.
