Default AFR 205 Heads vs TSP/PRC 200cc Terminator Heads

A buddy of mine (Yellowtoy/A) is looking to get a set of heads. He wants to get the TSP Terminator heads and I tell him to get the AFR 205 heads. He has a 224/228 110+2 cam. He thinks the Terminator heads are just as good as the AFR 205 heads. What is everyone elses opinion/experience?

AFR all the way. The old Terminator port doesn't line up with a Fast Intake. I haven't heard that the Terminator heads have gotten an updated port yet. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

Have you considered the trickflow heads if you're in the market for a "premium" head?

Just read the board. How many people who ACTUALLY OWN the heads would buy them again? You'll find out which is the better head real quick.

Maybe if Brian Tooley wasn't such a tool and had a better attitude then more people would posibly consider the TEA/TFS heads.

I am would like to see real data. It looks like the Terminator heads are just as good as AFR. Smaller runner with the same flow. Does anyone have back to back flow data. Anyone have any other data???? I would like to save a few hundred dollars with same performance.

AFR heads have proven themselves over and over. The TSP's are a gamble IMO.

find out how many LS1 cars are making 450+ with AFR's and the find out how many cars make 450 with the terminators. sure you can gamble and might get lucky and make good power with the terminators or you can rest assure that theres not doubt about it, your going to make big power and get the AFR's.

stock bottom 346ci with TSP LS6 heads making much over 450+rwhp here.
TSP LS6 heads are great budget heads. AFRs don't impress me, especially after I ran an AFR 205 headed Z06 (AFR milled/G5X3 combo).

Another thing to factor in is the durablity of an aftermarket casting vs a ported stock casting.

But the Terminator head is only 200cc intake runner, it likely that it's stronger in the rocker boss area than the larger port LS6 offerings.

I hear Summit Racing is about to have some in stock...the TFS heads can also be bought from any TFS dealer. Vengeance, East Coast Supercharging, HPE, Futral Motorsports, Nevarez Racing Products, Xessive Motorsports, etc.

The TFS heads we sell are the same ones that TFS and Summit sells.

I try to not to be a "tool" or have a bad attitude, but I do speak my mind and stand up for our product.

i think AFR, trickflow have easily proven themselves on the board. But even the Tsp heads are decent heads for the money. The biggest factor in determining is obviously Budget so if you want a more $$$$ head, try the classifieds. If you want brand spanking new then your gonna pay.

AFR/TFS = sure thing, every time.

PP/PRC = a 60/40 thing, where actual performance is good somewhere between 40 and 60% of the time, and bad a corresponding amount, and that varies by time. Basic QA/QC problem IMHO.

3-years ago I bought LS6 stlye heads based on a member making >450rwhp with them, and used the same 231/237 cam. On a fresh shortblock with every possible bolt-on it made 415rwhp. Now 10k miles later the valve guides are toast, and not easy to replace.

Not relevant. The topic is the TSP Terminator heads. They're an aftermarket casting.

i dont have any real data for you but if i was gonna spend that much on heads i would spend a lil more and get the AFR's..like everyone has said they are proven heads, the terminators on the other hand haven't really proven that they produce consistently good results and only cost $200 or $300 bucks less
