Default Upgraded heads, stock cam?

Has anybody upgraded their heads and left the stock cam? How much power was the head upgrade worth?

Thanks,

Steve

It's rare for someone to swap heads before the cam. You would gain more power from a bigger cam than ported heads, the heads give you the power when you have a bigger cam that allows them to flow. It would be interesting to see what kind of gains ported heads with a stock cam give though.

I'm interested because I want a minimum impact to drivability. Figure the heads wont cause any loss of idle quality. I'd consider a mild cam afterwards.

So anybody tried it?

PK 01 SOM WS6 did this for reasons not known, and came up with about 370. Gained about 15/15. Do a search for it, and youll find the previous thread.

Might also add in 1.85 rockers if your going to just to heads, will give more lift and a little more duration for maybe another 5-10rwhp with little or no effect of driveability.
