Default Cam/compression/valve clearance ??'s

ok, im in the process of having a new motor built, and i had afew ??'s

i've got a set of mms s2 5.7ltr heads. Milled .30.

How big of a cam could i run on stock pistons?

also, were doing the internals on the motor...I want more compression (around 11:0 or so). Would i gain more power using stock height pistons and a bigger cam, or more compression and a smaller cam?

keeping in mind this will be a bottle fed motor...

any thoughts?
thanks guys
matt

I have my heads milled 30thous and they are 5.7 heads I am going to be running a 224/224 dur with .600/.600 lift now I am not sure how much more you have if you have more compression but anyways long story short I have seen guys with 5.3 heads milled 15 thous which gives them 11:3:1 I beleive and the cam was a 229/229 dur with 570/570 lift. This is Terry Burgers setup and he hasnt had any piston to valve issues I would email him about it or call a sponsor.I hope that helpe some.

This is all a guess. Raughammer has his heads milled I think 60 thou and he runs 224/.581 cam. I do not know how much clearance he has, but I would expect not much. I have valve reliefs in my pistons so I have much room to work with. I probably could run 236/236 with ease.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
