Default question about mti 422

I talked to mti and they said they would not sell a 422 without installing it as a package. The only motor I could buy out the door was a 382.Besides the tuning i would rather do the install myself.

That seems kinda crazy to me. Maybe they couldn't keep up with the demand if they started shipping the motors out. I think they have a long waiting list for 422's.

That isn't true. They just do not offer a warranty on motors they do not install. Several people have received crate motors, some even in europe.

Why wouldn't they warranty a shortblock? Anything this that they would cover under the warranty would be outside of the realm of things you could screw up on an install...

Look at where I live. MTI had no problem shipping my 422 motor to the other side of the world . Iam not sure about warranty though, hopefully I won't need it. MTI would probably still warranty the motor if installed by someone else, however don't expect it to be a 2year/24k warranty.
