Would going to Royal Purple the day before racing help?
I guess most agree that Royal Purple breaks down over time. BUT what if I goto Royal Purple motor oil the day before I race my car? That way it will still be fresh. Will I see any benefits? What grade should I go with if I do that? How long should I leave it in there for?

I honestly don't see what all the hype about Royal Purple is. To me I just see an oil full of gimmicks (hokey website, purple dye in the oil, infomercial style advertising) but not much results.
Whatever oil you choose, stick with 10w30. I still say Redline 10w30 blows away Royal Purple.
Even my Maxlife 10w30 looks like a better deal than RP.

I've always been a big fan of Royal Purple and had excellent luck with it. Independent testing has shown a HP increase over Mobil 1. I have no complaints.

What Royal Purple were the guys running that said it broke down too soon? They have a race oil and a multi-weight oil for daily driven vehicles. If you use race oil in a daily driver it will break down much quicker than multi-weight oil.

RPs race oils are actually better,as they are full synthetic while their street oils are not. The race oils should retain viscosity longer. The reason RP shows more power on the dyno is because it's thinning out under high rpms!! Not good.
Kenny, all Redline oils are fully synthetic.

I agree with Patman.
I ran the RP Racing 41 all Synthectic for a while but I changed it frequently since its not for a true street type setup,If they would come out with a 10/30 weight in there racing formula I wouldve probably ran it.I just dont like 5/30 in a car running 6800 rpm..
I decided to run RL 10/30 since it has almost 4 times more moly in it that RP.Its a better oil plain and simple...
