Default What's a typical HP gain with stage 1 heads?

I was wondering what gain I should expect with some good ported stage 1's with my setup listed below.

I would say somewhere in the 20 to 25 RWHP range for a set of good S1 heads on top of what u have now.

Good luck.....

How much does milling them make a difference?

Some good stage 1 heads flow 280 cfm at .500" lift on intake and around 200 cfm at same lift on exhaust. This is with small volume increase around 210cc total on intake port. Milling heads can be worth 10 hp, but it depends on how much cylinder pressure is lost in usable rpm range, from your cam choice. I went with 10.6 to 1 by cutting my heads .030" and very little chamber cleanup. I feel ultimately heads should be worth 35 t0 50 hp with all aspects of combination and tune factored in. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Well, I think JPR (Joe Prince Racing) has some of the best flowing heads out there right now with the stock valves. He is making some serouis power from his Stage 1... also without adding a cam and a set of headers you really won't see the true potential from any heads you buy.

I already have a TR 220 cam and FLP's.

I was thinking about a .5 second, with your mods. Which would make you in the lower 12's..maybe lower!!

SlowHawk, I'm a little surprised the TR220 only put you at 12.84's; I thought the power would be better? Or are the times before the cam?
