You are probably ok on the valves. You can change them all in the car. Not a big project.

I think Nate means ya can change all the *springs* in the car. Changing valves requires pulling heads.

mjf454,
If you have a valve sitting lower than all the others (with rockers off of course) then you do have a bent valve. Just pull the one head and replace the valve.
Joe.

Well the lifter was up on the lobe, so i turned the motor over by hand and i can grab the valve and spin it, pull it up and down, so looks like all i need is a set of new springs. I am very happy i dont have to pull the heads.
Thanks for the help.

Mike.

Default broken valve spring.........oh no

I seem to have broken the #7 spring on the intake side. I know this seems to be a normal problem on a ls1. What are the odds that i bent a valve?
I was pulling away from a stop sign, heard real bad missing, some clanking and shut the car off and coasted over to the curb.I towed the car home and pulled the valve covers and #7 is sitting about 3/8" to a 1/2" lower than the rest of the valves. crappy springs

I thought to put dual springs on you needed to modify the heads at where the spring seats to accomodate the extra bit?
