Broken head. (56k warning)
One other thing worth considering, LPE makes a steel rocker stand that replaces the aluminum one that will help support the rockers better on ported GM heads. Might be worth looking at when you re-install your heads.
The steet rocker stand should not be needed at all, the all new port we developed leaves TONS of material around that area.

The new ls6 & new 5.3l heads have never had one failure so we'll just swap you over so you'll be good to go.

Soulless,
These are the old heads. I ordered them last year.
Old heads or not I'll get them swapped out for you.. There's not really that many pairs that have had issues...

are the old 5.3 subject to this failure too ?
Jason, when were the problem heads being produced? I just sold one set to a customer that I got from your shop about 4 or 5 months ago. I had them here for a customer that is out of the country at this time. I sold his head to another customer and since then ordered three sets one of which to replace his set that I sold. Is there anything I need to worry about on the heads that I sold from 4 months ago?

Now, that's customer service! Yes, this is a bad happenstance, and probably four or five out of thousands of set of heads, but glad to see TSP step up to the plate and offer to remedy this for... FREE.
TSP's customer service,

I have a set of PRC Stage 1's sitting in my basement than are epoxy welded around the rocker towers. Do these have any issues? Just want to make sure before I put them on this spring.
There's not enough heads failing to worry about it by any means. I welded some of the castings just for cheap insurance until I could finish up the smaller port.
It wasn't easy getting the smaller port to move the huge air that the previous head did, but we got it done.
The only heads that had problems were a select few ls6 castings that just had enough core shift that the rocker area wasn't thick enough.
I've never had 1 set of 5.3l or new port ls6 heads come back for any reason. As a result I'm just swap out any of the guys that had this issue.

Man. With every click of my mouse, I see more and more good stuff about TSP. Not only was my experience with their service top notch. But I almost get warm in fuzzy knowing that these guys are this cool and really do exist.
Got an application I could fill out? haha. I'm attending classes at UTI. But would move down to texas any day to be a part of the team.
