Default Broken head. (56k warning)

A little backround. Heads & cam have been in for around 4k miles. Along with heads & cam were PRC dual springs, chromemoly pushrods, new lifters & ported ls6 oil pump.

I had just pulled out of a gas station & was driving normal. Speed was about 45 mph. The car revved up 3-4k rpm, I let off the gas & put it in neutral. The rpms & mph kept steady even after letting off the gas. There was a squeaking sound for a few seconds along with loud tapping and a pop. After that the car died.

Now for the pics.

It will be interesting to see the under side of the head and to learn who's heads those are.

I have no idea what caused this to happen.

They are PRC LS6 CNC'd heads from Texas-Speed.

Not throwing stones at anyone, but do a search. That is not the first time this has happened.

I was talking about not throwing stones at the supporting vendor that supplied the heads.

Basically. Part of the reason they moved to a 230cc runner instead of 237cc. They explained the issue in the other thread.

No worries man call me on Monday morning & I'll replace them with a set of the all new smaller runner ls6 heads. I'm making sure & swapping out any of the old none welded casting guys to the all new ls6 head if they have any issues.

The new ls6 & new 5.3l heads have never had one failure so we'll just swap you over so you'll be good to go.

Do you know if this is the new version or the old version of the head?

That has to be the old version of the head, I redesigned with the smaller runner for better throttle response & to eliminate the possibility of this happening.
