4.25" Bore now available..!
Thought before that that 4.125" bore with liners was the largest.. You all bore guys might want to call Jayson. He quoted $1,200 installed, good price IMO. were sponsored so not our money were playing with!
PSJ & NineBall, with a 4.25" Lunati crank = 482 cubic inches... Your opinion on that combo?
thoughts would be appreciated, as not a lot to spend on liners (4.25") @ $1,200 + Lunati crank (4.25") to get 482".
Thoughts guys?
This site rocks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Very interesting though!

That would make a 454 with a 4" crank. You could put some big 2.1" intake valves in and port out a Holley intake and have a monster. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
Thats not a lot of $$ for a large displacement Square motor.
Ryan. (dreaming that he had lots of $$) <img border="0" alt="[Z06 Corvette]" title="" src="graemlins/z06.gif" />
As far as bore spacing is concerned, anyone (Jayson/MTI) know the spec's on that? PSJ, or NineBall?
Also, are they selling the resleeved block seperately without having to buy the whole motor.
This sounds interesting. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Yes, thet sell the block (used alloy LS1) separately, for a quoted $600!! (Cheap IMO) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Or they will do yours for you. Add the cost of a bore & hone to the $1,200, & get them to do it.
And obviously, you don't need to buy a whole engine from them. This deal with 4.250" set-up is very cheap.
An 'All Bore' engine with this MTI deal works out at 411 cubic inches, for less than @$1,500, including bore/hone. Add head gaskets to that.
Thoughts on this? PSJ & NineBall?
Plus 482" with 4.25 Lunati Crank?

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
They haven't built any 4.25" bore blocks yet, but their machinist thinks it will be possible with these sleeves.
As for pricing, I have no idea.
As for a HUGE motor like that, I think you will hit the law of diminishing returns once you go past a certain size. I know our intakes can't feed those cubes, so a custom intake would almost be a necessity. I told MTI that I'd rather have a badass running 434ci motor than a mediocre 471ci setup. Just my feelings on that.

We're going to get into the water jackets porting heads to work with that. 350cfm+ would be nice with a 454+, the problem is that someone (Wilson)needs to port that Holley intake to make sure a 350cfm set of heads is actually able to get that much cfm to the cylinders. A very large T/B would also be needed, somewhere around 100mm or so. That would be good for 700+hp N/A, then I would get concerned about the wall thickness. But then again, LPE has that 427 Twin Turbo 750hp engine that holds up.
I'd like to see a 454 street engine with a hydralic roller, that would be a great daily driver after you got it working right. GM never made a 454 Camaro, but they should have!

Not trying to burst you bubble, it sounds like a great deal to me!
More input would be appreciated... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I'd like to see one!
Everyone already made the points I would make.
To tell you the truth, if I could get a C5R block used I would use that next time.
The steel block is a great idea when building a big motor.I might do one down the road too. Then if I ever wanna spray it I can w/o worries.

Colonel is running 9s on motor with a 2-year 24,000 mile warranty. Pretty funny to think about isn't it?

Give Jayson a call..

SUPER DUTY!!!!!
Or 4.125" bore and a 3.25" stroke. That would still be only 347". You could probably stuff a 6.5" rod in there (2:1 rod stroke ratio) and might be able to get some serious rpm out of that. 8,500 rpm maybe???
