Heads and Cam -- Post your info
Ryan
I have been looking at track times also, not just dyno numbers. Barely making 11's with 117 traps on an M6 supports my opinion on design flaws in ARE's heads. Those are the numbers I have been seeing, even if you look at ARE's website under their customer's with the same setup.
And to think that ARE was going to be my choice for a head/cam package.

Now I don't know!!!

You are probably still ok with their stage I setup, which is 2.02/1.57, although I cant vouch for the porting/hogging out that might be on that setup also or other quality issues.
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
2.055 / 1.60
I'm looking around 415-430 rwhp and the torque around 400, I want to run mid -low 11's
I wonder how far MTI or TR is from Toronto Canada?? oh damn that's way too far Texas & Baton Rouge ...
This is not good, Guess Im stuck with ARE, great!!!

sorry my bad, wow 2.08....why are they going that route.. What???? Are they expecting, all of their customers will be getting bigger cubed engines???
Then I guess I will have to ship the car to MTI or TR(from Toronto Canada, Hell expensive) once I'm ready
What about Cartek??

Good luck trying to unshroud the valves with a stock bore and 2.08" intake.
If you're interested in TR or MTI, you can always order the package and have it installed somewhere closer to you. JPR, Speed Inc., Cartek, etc. Both TR and MTI will work with you over the phone to pick a package that suits your needs. If you're not happy with your choices locally, I definitely wouldn't go with them just because they're closer! JMO

First thing I do when i want to spend money somewhere is call that shop. If the service sucks, why should they get your money?
HEADS: GTP STAGE 2 w/custom milling
CAM: Comp 224/228 112 LSA
No times yet
Other MODS: LS6 intake, MACS w/offroad, 160*t-stat, plugs&wires, custom dynotuning
MAX RWHP=423.1
MAX TORQUE= 395.7
and yes, MANY a 221-224 cam'd cars with stock heads have hit 375-395rwhp. its not hard. the cams just work. I saw a guy dyno with stock heads, the normal boltons, 17x11's, and STOCK tuning this 400rwhp....with a B1. magic? bs? nope.
what about the dyno's TR puts out. 420rw from GTP heads and the 224? and MTI's countless 400+RWHP cars with nothing but a HPP3. a local guy here dyno'd a 417 in april of 2000 with S2 ehads and a T1. LS1 intake. After adding 4.10's over his 3.42's, an LS6 intake and a mufflex catback over his cutout (untouched mac's with stock collector BTW), he makes 43x as of today. pretty good for a 2 year old set up. just FYI to all those looking at this thread for guidance.
what makes it worse is guys like ezss goes in thinking he's got the absolute **** when it comes to heads...now the guy doesnt return calls or emails, his power blows, and he's unhappy.
ARE LS1. didnt realize $ was a factor. I wouldnt go buy another set of heads either, man. That cam should work nicely when tuned properly. you may want to try to pick up an XE-R 228/228. its big, but it would make up for the disparity in power your experiencing. TR has a 230/224, 227/227. MTI has a 230/227. RagingMS has a 230/230.
