Do you have any pictures of custom intakes for C5R heads? So far I've only seen one. Don't forget to take pictures of EVERYTHING!!!!! Good luck to ya!

apples to apples . What does that mean?

I think they performed the flow test on fully ported LS6 heads against unported C5R heads.

You decided on Thursday 08/08/02 to go with the 050 or 090 series heads? Whom did you get them from?
Who ported them? Who worked the valves? Who assembled them? Did you get the Jesel rockers?

If you're going to tell us that LS6 heads are right there with C5R heads, please share with us the actual results of this so-called flow test.

If C5R heads barely out perform LS6 heads, I guess those C5R race teams just want to be unique too?

You’re amazing, Dude

Both heads have been ported dufus. Tested on the same flow bench under identical conditions. Do I need to make it simpler for you? Apples to apples. Read it slowly. Lemme know if you need further clarification.

FWIW and for those of you that don't have some kind of psychotic jealousy or whatever this dude's problem is, we are testing the latest C5R heads next week.

I don’t have a problem, just a simple question.

Which did you test Friday? And again, what were the results?

You made the statement, share the numbers.

If you check the classifieds and texas section you will see they were for sale. I overnighted the heads to him. They were flow tested at MTI just for fun and the way they sat just cnced they flow 364 and 262. I sold them with the Del West Valves. It amazes me that you had doubt. He recieved the heads at 10:06 Friday morning and had a check in the mail to me for $3171 "he paid full overnight shipping cost" by 1:00 pm. He is a straight up guy to deal with and I have no doubt we will be seeing this car around.

Thanks for buying them Ray!!

The man has stated that it is just a CNC'ed set of C5R heads.......how far did they take the port work? What size valves?

364 doesn't seem like much as compared to others claims! The exhaust ports should be the same according to GM........or atleast from what I have read. I would think the port work would make them different! Do you have any pics of the heads and their ports? They should be of a D port design so I am interested to know how they are any different. It would be a shmae to have to get a custom intake and headers! I have yet to get enough money together to finish a set for myself!

grb-- I'd absolutely LOVE for you to get & post some pics of those C5R heads...I've never seen them in real life--
And Please tell me you're gonna take pics along the way of components/install-- this is a dream project that I'd love to see step-by-step

Clearly these heads were designed to operate in the upper RPM ranges. Obviously these things weren't designed to lug around at 3,500 RPMs. The exhaust ports are difinitely different. I'll get some pictures next week and see if I can figure out how to post them. I'll get a picture of the new 090 heads too.

All i can say is... DAMN!! A shop near my house recently completed a 427 twin turbo TA using c5r block and heads, i'm not sure about the internals. Their site is www.stropespeedshop.com They might be able to help you make some decisions since they recently did a similar project. Also, just a question, what do you do for a living?? I'm in college now and i'm trying to sort out what i want to do with my life, sounds like you are pretty well off, it would be nice to be able to afford something like this in 20 years. That camaro is going to be SICK!!! good luck with it!!

VT - do what makes you happy. Money won't do it. Everybody that doesn't have it thinks it's the answer to every problem. It's not.

I made a good living with my family owned tire business in Atlanta. I had six stores, nice net worth and good income. In the early 90s I caught on to the fact that my largest supplier was guilty of price discrimination and other antitrust violations most of which were aimed directly at me. To make a long story short it took me about 5 years and a million and a half dollars in attorneys fees to make them see things my way.

My advise would be to work for yourself if you're a self starter and highly motivated to suceed. Double your efforts every time somebody tells you something can't be done.

I had inquired to Kateck a couple weeks ago about flow #'s and they said: they flow over 300 cfm at low lift ( I can't remember where) and they flow all the way up to .800 lift which is where you see the big #'s.

As far as $12,000 being to much, that is totaly assembled w/Jesel valvetrain and the works

they require a lot of port work to optimise them.

theyre race heads, most of their superiority to the ls6 heads is in the upper rpm range like you said. meant for big cam, high rpm work. stick a blower on there for some low end hehe.

J-rod - I'm gonna be out of town from tomorrow until next Sat. I saw Lamar today and things are going well. Looks like we won't be able to use the OE LS6 engine management program.

There are things about this project that I would be out of line to comment on. There are some very knowledgeable people who are following this who may wish to comment.

I have been following your thread on and off, and since you seem like someone that might be interested in something like this I figured I would post a link http://www.coatesengine.com/index1.html
Talk about unique! If this does all the site says it will, you would see some nice gains.

VTTransAM - That is a VERY impressive Firebird. I am quite suprised it hasn't gotten anymore press that that yet. That car if it lives up to its potential is certainly going to be a a match for any of the Supra Crowd

GRB - Keep us posted... I think many of us are watching htis intently. I know that it may be alot to ask, but if you get a chance to get some pictures, I would be very interested in seeing the car, the work, etc...

Thanks...
