Exclamation urgent valve train help needed

I finished doing a mulitple parts swap on my 02 SS.

To make a long story short I get a very loud ticking noise intermediately from the drivers side. It does go away. The noise seems to come when I get the car past 3000 rpms. It stays for a while but at unpredicatable times will go away.
Mods that pertain to this thread are MS4 cam (239/242, .649"/.609" 112 LSA) and Precison Race Components Stg 1.0 LS6 Heads with PRC dual springs and using TSPs 7.4 pushrods. Stock lifters and rockers. Everything was torqued to spec, meticulously put where it belonged during the rebuid, compression was tested, oil, coolant and fuel were all primed before the first start up.

All help is greatly appreciated.

I asked on CZ28.com and they mentioned valve lash adjustment... THere should be one.... but LS1howto.com didn't mention anything about it..But then again, there might be a basic rocker TQ setting and the HYD lifters could take up the rest. ... Again, I'm lost on it too... It's on the drivers side for sure.

I have the drive vid, but you can barley hear the valve tick on it...

i had the same problem happen to me a while back when i got done doing my header install. turned out that there was a leak coming from the egr **** on the driver side header. I know if that gasket is bad or its not tight enough it will make that ticking at around 3-4000rpm. might not be that, but just a suggestion.

You know what that might just be it.
I say this because when the dude welded it he could not get to the top so, I put a band clamp in it (where the flange meets the Y). I had to remove the clamp because I was going to use it for where I had to cut the Y to be able to move the headers around for this install. I will put another clamp on tommorow and see what happens.
I plan to get the exhause rewelded this week anyway.
Thanks for the input

I was talking about on top on the header where the egr fitting was, but either way it sounds like it could definetly be an exhaust leak. Hope you get it figured out, and that its a cheap fix

My car is in the same boat. I got Heads and cam with all the other accesories and my car has a terrrible ticking noise on the driver side. I think it is my lifters even though they are new. Taking the whole thing apart this weekend.

Please post up once you get it figured out.

I put JB weld all around the leaky header collector and band clamped it for added security. I will take the car out for a spin tommorow. I am still tweaking the tuning.

Well I had the car to my local dealer (who always fixes it and are trustworthy), they spoke to TSP and a possible cure is longer pushrods.
TSP is sending me 7.425".
We will see after this weekend. It it is not the pushrods then I will have to go deeper and replace the lifters. Oh joy! I might have to tear the engine down again.

Hats off to Jon Reynolds @TSP for all of his help!

Well longer rods don't help.
TSP is sending me 7.350s. We will see how that goes.

Here a few movies if you want to here the noise I am taking about.
You might have to do save target as.
