first off are the dyno numbers we are gonna be seeing from these heads going to be rather consistent... + or - 5-10 horse??? i know not any 2 heads are alike..

secondly if these "new" s2's produce approx the same hp as competitors s2's with lower compression and similar popular cam choices, this means that the heads themselves are somewhat superior???.. 2 ways i can think of.
1) mill the heads for more compression so go from 10.5 to 11.3 or 11.5 = more hp
2) technically they should flow better then the other popular s2's on the market because they are producing similar hp with less compression.. which in essence means you can run a slightly bigger cam then the popular choices, because the heads aren't milled so you have more ptv clearence ????

is this understanding true??

just curious, i have been in the market for a decent head and i know some of the more popular shops such as MTI and MMS and GTP are making great heads however we can still see more hp out of these heads!!!!

Grease Monkey,
I am real tired but I will try to answer your questions.

1. It's true, no 2 heads are going to be "identical" But, there very close, I am a very meticulious porter and accuracy with the flow numbers per lift position is key. I would go as far to say, no two packages are exactly the same.

2. I feel that 420 + RWH is a good benchmark to start at for setting the standard for my new S2 heads for the M6's using 10.5 compression, that is most likely a low ball figure depending on gears and trans types so yes, there is more left in the power department compression wise and they can yeild more power with more off the decks. I will post back my S2 M6 dyno info very soon, all the S2's I have done to date are all A4's and there all over 400RWH at 10.5 with open converters with the execption of Shiznity's car with a TH400 4,200 open stall that turned 388 with stock A4 programming through 3:73 gears.

3.Actually, milling the heads from 10.5 to 11.0 would be more torque and a little more hp.

4.True about the comparible numbers, I seem to be on par as of right now with the S2 program and, well over par with the S1 program, there will be more P to V clearance with my heads by proxy of my compression ratio choice.

Hope that helps?
Joe.

i am very interested in flow numbers as well as the prices...if you would be so kind to post the dyno #'s up when available that would be awesome and if you could e-mail me the price on these s2 heads i would greatly appreciate it... i greatly like the fact that you have taken porting of these ls1 heads to a higher level , rather than the milling effect ... compression is great but where i live its 110 degrees 4.5 months of the year.

Other than using premium fuel (not racegas) so the engine don't ping; are there any drawbacks running around 11:1 compression?

No drawbacks whatsoever
However, if you are planning on running a large *** cam (230 intake duration for example)
you will need to closely check PtoV clearance. With your cam choice you can run 11.3:1 no problem at all.

Maybe people are starting to notice more? I see stage II mti cars with long tubes running slower than JPR's mild as hell packages. That man knows what he's doing.
