Default Checking for a spun rod bearing

I am very close to getting the oil pan off of my 99 vette, what is the easiest way to check for spun rod and main bearings? Thanks

Default Re: Checking for a spun rod bearing

what makes you think you have a spun bearing? do you understand how these engines are made? the rods are not like the old style small block and cannot be reconditioned in the normal way. the rods are broken at the parting line not machined and at this time i am not aware of any over sized od rod bearings. the most obvious way to check for spun bearings is is to first inspect what oil did not drain from the pan for metal and next feel the rodsif you cant feel anything abnormal then pull the caps and inspect the bearings(both top and bottom)
