Do you guys have any good or bad things to say about Manley 221423-16 Springs?
I am taking my baby to MTI next week for an X1 Cam and they want to use Manleys on it.. I am not familiar with Manleys and havent read anything about them and or know of anyone using them...
I am familiar with Dual Iskys and Comp 918s & the dreaded 941s but dont know of anyone using Manleys.. I do have 918s on the car now but they are being yanked per MTI's suggestion..
Are the Manleys good for daily driven cars?

We currently have our own valve spring that comes from the same manufacturer as the Manley 221423-16 and for all practical purposes it is identical. We have a slightly different heat treat, but dimensionally the spring is identical. We tested the 221423's on several road racing engines and they performed perfectly. Our part number at SDPC is SD1423 and they sale for $117.95 a set. I have a set on my 02 ZO6 with a 0.570" lift cam and they see 7100rpm's in the water, they have over 2000 miles on them --- and no problems. I highly recommend the Manley or our SD1423. We too have had our share of spring problems and this looks like the answer!
FYI - none of the cam manufacturer's make their own valve springs. There are only a few companies in the USA with the capabilities of producing valve springs. Most of these facilities are in the steel industry. Anyone can have valve springs made from one of these companies. You choose the type of "wire" you want and how you want the wire manufactured - a brief description of the process! Of course there are minimum orders, which is a lot of valve springs.
