GeorgeC, i got my Rapidfires from GM dealer where i work. You should plan on index and plug reach change in my opinion. Just aim electrode strap away from pistons, this will also give uniform burn patterns on plugs so it will be easier to read them after tune runs.Your car sounds killer, keep us posted on its performance. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

OK, I installed Delco #3 RapidFires, and indexed them all with the strap at the top of the combustion chamber, as far away from the piston as can be. They don't look any shorter reach than the TR6's, though. Hopefully this will work, but I won't know until tomorrow.

We rebuilt the tranny today also. The intermediate sprag broke and sent shrapnel all through the tranny, so now I have a new drum, sprag, and high gear clutches and Kolene steels (again). I was soooooo close to just swapping in a powerglide with a Turbo input shaft (so I could use my same converter) today. My buddy offered to trade me straight out, and had a 'glide sitting there ready to go, with a JW tranny brake already in it.
