HELP.... Are there stampings on a LS6 camshaft that will confirm that it is a LS6 Does anyone know how to tell a stock LS1 camshaft from a LS6 ??? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
I can't find a part number on the cam, just some stamped codes.. <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

Re: HELP.... Are there stampings on a LS6 camshaft that will confirm that it is a LS6 And one LS6 cam has different stamped codes on the end from another. I haven't seen a way to compare them yet - maybe that little "barcode" looking stamp on the end?
Of course - you could Cam Doctor it and see...

The stampings on the front are
0950 , S 12 , 0242 , E
Do these stampings mean anything... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Also Whats the diffrent lift numbers between the 99 F-body cam vs the 99 Vette cam, I thought they ere the same?

I would say not enough flat area for a stamp. The '02 LS6 valve springs out of my Z06 are yellow/green color. The '01 LS6 valve springs are not yellow/green but are painted blue (I believe)?
