Maybe we should do it as a poll.

1. low on oil
2. high RPM
3. don't know

Any other ideas for poll choices?

i spun a bearing also, i wasn't low on oil but it was due to bad oil pressure. Could i still get this fixed if i purchased an extended warranty? If so, will it still be a reliable engine or should i look towards a bigger cubed engine?

Damn Im sitting @ 73k and starting to see alot of threads lately of spun bearrings and its starting to worry me.I plan on stroking, not til 1yr from now,if it goes i have an emergeny credit card, but would rather wait a yr.I just got my heads on.I did not spin a bearing, but my driveshaft did split in half and broke my tailshaft and tourque arm.All is fixed now,but thats money taken out of my stroker fund.Just picked up my car on tuesday and it did 417rwhp and 407ft,not bad for an A4 with aTR224/112 cam.Im thinking of swapping cams in a couple of months, but been kinda dyno shy after what just happened to me and now hearing this it worries me more.Sorry that happen to you good luck and wish i could help

Choice 4 - stupid gm design oil pump failed. At 35K on the clock, GM said f you so I ended up with a new motor in 2002. On my dime.
