what is involved when doing a 382?

what is involved when doing a 382? i just spun a rod bearing, and am not sure what all i need to do just yet, but if i need to pull the crank, will i be able to acheive 382ci just by changing out the crank?

you will have to change out the whole rotating assembly. to make it a 382/383 it will require a 4" stroke crank which will put the pistons way out of the top of the block.
