Funny avatar. I'd still take Horatio Sanz over Will Ferrell ANYDAY of the week.

Updated Information: (March-8, 2007)

Me and my pops got the car ready to be towed to the dealer this morning. As of the moment, he's getting ready to ride with the towing company because I got school in two hours. Wish me luck guys.

umm..my name is Matt,. and Ive been a victim of a spun bearing for several years. It hurts to talk about it but I'm finally able to talk about it, thanks to my friends, family, and hopefully this group. Here is a picture of her, the bitch, I hope the landfill buried her 79 feet below the top layer of shitty baby diapers.

Hello to the newest memmbers. Our facility still has room for more! There will be some fees though for using our services.

To the newest members: What was the outcome? Did you buy another LS1 block and crank?

Mine spun a bearing after loading it up against the transbrake (4100 RPM) and hitting just under 6k I felt a power loss the car seemed to sputter and the motor died. Once it refired-no oil pressure and a death rattle. I said **** it and drove it two blocks back to home. 14,400 original miles, about 4 bottle of nitrous ran through it. Most of the miles were just cruising or highway. It wasnt race weekly, and it was in the garage and never saw a rain drop or a flake of snow.

Updated Info: (March 9, 2007) My dealer guy called and said that the warranty people are coming over Tuesday or Wednesday to see if its covered.

I'm pretty pissed. Today we hit about 50 degrees and I had to run a few errands today and saw a buncha ricers with their cars out thinking they were kings of the road. I was in my 2002 Envoy and was frustrated! I wish I had the Trans Am so I could unleash the beast. I coulda had about 10 ricers for lunch today.

You could probably still beat the ricers in your Envoy.

i'm getting ready to do a head/cam pkg soon and i'm thinking now about keeping it under 6200rpm's for longevity after reading this post because i can't afford to do a rebuild now. i'm going to do either a melling pump or a ported ls6 pump, & ls2 chain at the same time, but wonder if i should change out the rod bolts and mayber bearings too.

what's your thoughts on doing rod bolts & bearings while the motor is still in the car? should i just leave them alone even though it's a '99 motor with about 62,000 miles on it??? it runs smooth and you know what they say, if it ain't broke.........

Hell yeah bro! Change out those weak bolts and put in some ARP bolts with Clevite or Federal Mogul Bearings!!!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it but when you are standing out in the street watching your ride get towed, you'd probably wish you woulda done it in the first place!!

i've heard of guys spinning a rod bearing even after doing the swap though and that personally would make me even more upset since the money was spent. this is the toughest decision yet with the car. lol.

I was going to do that with mine.I even bought the parts.I had new cam bearings installed and they guy who did them told me that you have to resize the rods when you put ARP bolts in.I'm just leaving my stock ones alone for now.74000 miles with good oil pressure.I'm putting in a new pump, pickup tube and timing chain though.

How long was it after you guys spun your bearings did your motor finally poop out?

I never thought it would happen to me, and it did. I never thought it would sound the way it does too!
