I became a victim last night.

After replacing rod bolts in my 5.3l and not checking clearances i broke two rods after 500 miles of the engine running on a pull for tuning.

My mistake.

2 weeks later I swap another 5.3l in from a reputable junkyard with a 90 day warantee and i dont touch the bottom end. It had 113,000 miles on it and no sludge at all. It was in great shape. 350 miles later im doing a roll from 40 in second and pull to 120. All this time im shifting at around 5800, the engine didnt seem like it pulled past that, unless my tach is severely off, but my tuner should have fixed that. Then another pull in 3rd around 100 and i feel power loss and look at the oil pressure gauge and it reads around 15.

The engine had a 232/238 .595/.605 111 cam, comp pushrods, head work and a ls6 oil pump. Wtf is the problem? I can go and get another engine for free pretty much, but i dont want to do anything if its going to spin another damn bearing. Even forged motors can spin bearing so what can I do to prevent that?

The tach had to have been off severely. It sounded like it was screaming around 7k rpm but the tach said 5700 or 5800..
