I went out side and smelled the oil filler cap, and it has a faint smell of gas....

Then I pulled out the dipstick and it doesn't smell anything like gas at all....

Recently I bent a valve or valves or broke a valvespring, but when they did a compression test on it, all that happened was that air was blown out the intake....so something isn't right...but either way I drove it in the condition it was in for about 10 miles or so....

Is there any way for that unburned gas to make it down to the crankcase or no??

Should I change the oil thats been sitting in there through out this, while I wait for my new parts to get in...its going to be about 3 weeks longer of the car sitting...

I would think that the gas smell on the oil filler cap would be caused by the light ends in the oil evaporating off and sticking on the cap. I may be wrong, but mine smells like gasoling also.
