cold idle not great

cold idle not great I just removed my AIR system whem I replaced my head gaskets. Now when I start the car and let it cold idle it is ruff. Could it be possible the that removing the AIR system caused this. It was setup in my tuning so that I could remove it with out throughing a code which it did not. The idle is fine once the car comes up to temp and the car makes good power.
