Default Vacume leak :( Help me find it!

I have a vacume leak somewhere but i can't find it. What is going on is that when i turn the A/C on i only get the air to blow from the defroster in the top of the dash and through the vents in the floor but not through the vents in the dash that aim to your face and body. I checked the valve next to the PCM and it seems to be fine but where else can i look to check for leaks?

I've not done this on an Fbody but on alot of GM vehicles the climate control switch has a vacuum connection on the back with a bunch of lines coming out of it, and it wears out. You unclip the coupling device on the back to remove it and replace the whole switch assembly. But first, take it out and grab those vaccum lines while they are attached and move them around, (while the car is running and you move the switch around) usually it will hiss noticeably if there's a leak there.

Have you checked the 1/8 line beside the map sensor on the very back of the intake where the big rubber hose comein from the brake booster go's. Mine was off at one time and it did exactly what u are talking about. Justin

I have the exact same problem. Only thing is, when I turn on just the floor vents when the car is running I get a flashing ses light and the car goes psycho...

U luze,is it hard to reach the line? I'm going to check that out tomorrow after work.

98SS,I did not get a check engine light on mine. You might have too much vacume or something else going on to throw a flashing SES light, weird!

I think the SES is just because of them cam and the vacuum problem added together... so let's just worry about the dash vents not working. Does anyone have a diagram of all the vacuum lines???

I got the vacume leak fixed last night. Tunrs out that the bottome line on the valve by the PCM that runs to the back of the intake got hot and melted together over the years from laying on the transmission dip stick tube. We pulled the line off the intake and cut off the end that was melted then switched the boot to the other end of the line and reconnected everything together. Now i have COLD blowing AC <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
