Well, based on this math equation, I've figured out my surging issues.
Not enough inertia for the cam at low rpm's. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
Maybe I'll shell out for an ATI dampener and sell the ASP crank pulley. That ASP pulley is just too light. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
I may even go back to the stock flywheel or a billet one so I can get better track launches and have a smoother idle. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Big thanks to Nic Desjardines, Mike @ Xtreme Motorsports in Phx., and Thunder Racing for helping me diagnose my problems. The car is running a lot smoother as of today compared to the way it was running the past week. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

The ASP pulley weighs almost as much as the stocker, I don't think that is your problem....
You could definately do without the aluminum flywheel. Just go with a stock, the billet is not light enough to justify the price...

Damian, have you HAD an aluminum flywheel? they are freakin awesome. 1st gear is just a whole new animal. 2nd is slightly different than before, and 3rd and up all feel the same as before.
Makes the car very peppy around town.

I didn't like it at all, different strokes I guess....

Huh...ok <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
I loved mine to death in my Camaro. I dont really drag race though...I street race mainly from a roll and enjoy curves/autox.
Maybe on the vette since I can only get street tires in 18" sizes I'll have to stick with the steel flywheel. No point in making 1st gear useless I guess since there isn't much of a payoff in the taller gears.

ATI and the ASP pulley both weigh 6 lbs or close enough that there is no difference. Your aluminum flywheel will have a little more surging than a stocker.

Ahhhh....it's not the weight, it's the weight distribution, aka the rotational inertia. The more weight towards the outside edge of the pully, the harder it is to accelerate.
