Hi! We have not had any problems with the 26918 springs. We have
no build dates because we haven't had any problems with them. If you
would like to send them back we would be more than happy to take a look
at them. If you have any further questions you can call 1-800-365-9145

Thank You,

Since the 941's started breaking almost 2 years ago everyone started putting 918 and there has only been 2 or 3 breaks in almost 2 years none of which was suspected to be poor quality.
Now THIS MONTH ALONE there have been FIVE breaks and on ALL those, they had LESS than 200 miles on them.
This is with cams ranging from very very small cams to my 226/226/591/591 112. Yes, it was installed by a pro.
The problem is all over the message boards and there are ALOT of guys very worried. The word is to not use the 918's and go with isky's or doubles.
Don't you find it strange all these breaks near the same time, less than 200 miles, and all were ordered within a two week period?
Those springs are supposed to be good to 7500rpm and 625 lift.
Sorry, but I'm not believing that there is no problem and neither is about 10,000 other people in the F-Body community.

Hello,
I've personally come across 3 918 failures in the past few weeks. All
springs were professionally setup with a 1.800 install height and were
installed with the Comp (772 I believe) retainers. Furthermore, all
springs were initially verified via pressure testing prior to
installation.
Each spring broke prior to reaching 250 miles of driving which seems to me
is a defect within the spring. Is there any way of determining if the
spring is "good" if it reaches a certain mileage? I personally have them
in my car and have put 525 miles on them and have 9 1/4 mile passes
reaching 7000 rpm on several occasions. Also have 7 dyno pulls reaching
7000 rpm. Am I in the clear or should I be considering removing these in
favor of a suitable replacement.
I've heard 915s are ok but I seriously doubt they'll control valve-float
on the more aggressive LS1 camshafts.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

CC941's would be ok after install, then go out 3k-12k miles later.
I am writing because I recently had a 918 spring break on my 98 Trans Am LS1. I also hear that ya'll are not aware of any breaking? I frequent LS1TECH all day and there are reported breakages coming up. Mostly all have been recent. Within the last 2-4weeks. I dont know if there was a bad batch? Bad materials? Or something else, but I believe something needs to be looked into ASAP! These breaks could/can lead to very serious damage. Mine broke with around 200miles on the spring. The break in the spring looks as if the material wasnt made properly. It wasnt a cleab break. Yes, it was installed and tq'ed to all the specs. Also, the spring broke under normal driving. I wouldnt want to see how much internal damage I would have if it was I was at WOT!!!! But there are breaks coming up left and right here recently so there is a problem and its not the installers or car owners fought for these breaks. Mine has been sent in, cause I was told you wanted it for testing. I also emailed ya'll at the address on the your site, but I NEVER GOT A REPLY. Below are the same pictures of the break I sent in before! My cam is a 224/224 .563 114 comp cam. There is NO reason a 918 should break with this cam! Please let me know what is going on here. I have replaced my broken 918, but what about the other 15?? Please let me know something asap.
