Default At what mileage should you not consider modding the motor?

As we all know, a high mileage motor is more prone to breaking, or leaking ect. Therefore, it probably wouldn't be as good of an idea to mod an LS1 with 150,000 miles on it, as modding one with say 40,000 miles.

My specific question relates to a cam swap. At what mileage (if any) would it be unwise to do a cam swap with a stock motor to an aftermarket cam? (asuming the motor is in good shape, but just has some mileage on it)

As long as the motor passes a leak down test its good to go regardless of mileage. Just make sure to change valvesprings when you swap the cam.
