Part number 12561166 is a brand new virgin block straight from General Motors therefore the price is obiviously going to be more than some other blocks you might find.

Re: Does anyone have the GM part # for the LS6 Block? The block I got ends in a 8. I know its an LS6 block because of some specific machining marks. Plus its got larger windows at the bottom of the bore.
I think I'll call the dealer tomorrow and have them run the number.

Re: Does anyone have the GM part # for the LS6 Block? Keep in mind that Valvegod (Shaun C) had a hard time getting stuff like brand new LS6 stuff... I was looking at used LS6 takeoff heads from Valvegod but felt that it was too risky to use them for my 12:1 422ci motor.
But I did buy a 5.3 new truck alternator from him and it's on my car.
