YES, upgrade the oil pump and timing chain!!!

also, you will need to go bigger than a Comp224 for 400rwhp. I had the same goals as you, and took alittle more to get over that 400 mark. I actually bougth a bigger cam (TSP 231/237), so in the near future my 224 will be gone. I suggest going the route of the TSP Torquer v2 as a semi-retired DD car, but perfect for a weekend warrior.

Alright guys, so clearly in order to reach my goal of around 400 hp, I need to go bigger than a 224. So far this is what was suggested by you guys to name a few:

232/234 .595/.598 TSP Torquer v2
224/228 .581 .588
228/232 .588/.595 110+2 LSA (custom order Comp Cam XE-R lobes)

Keep in mind, Heads are outta the equation this year so it will be STOCK HEADS. I dont wanna have to mess with pistons, flycut, etc. All I wanna do is switch out the basics such as pushrods, springs, ls2 timing chain, and an upgraded LS6 oil pump, anything else?

Say I go with the Torquer v2, can you use comp 918 springs and their chomoly pushrods with it?

go more cam. a 228/232 on a 112 will give more power and drive just as good as the 224cam with a tune. stock heads don't matter, stock 10bolt.....i hope you don't have real sticky tires
