Re: H/C install quote I would restore the vette, but I want a daily driver and the vette will never be that. You just can't drive a vette every day, no matter how perfect the frame-off restoration.
I've talked with a couple other people and it seems like a H/C install including the parts should run more like $4,800-$5,000.
Just a little sticker shock. Next time I'll speak with the owner and not the computer geek.

That seems reasonable to me. A H/C job should take 8-12 hours so that's about $85/hr labor, which is in line with a speed shops labor rates.
I'm aware that people have done this install themselves, but I haven't, and as much as I'd like to, I need to have bulletproof.

Re: H/C install quote Crap, for $4800 labor, go buy a $2000 car to drive while you do it yourself, $2000 worth of tools, and you're still ahead. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> (can be done with standard hand tools and maybe $100 worth of 'special' tools - tho an air ratchet really helps for removing those rocker arms & head bolts).
