Default Worst case with a broken valve spring?

Well I checked and broke a valve spring on my MMS stage IIx heads and cam. The car goes to the shop tonight or tomorrow to be really torn into. So I'm wondering just what damage could have been done?

I'm thinking maybe new pistons, rods and rod bolts with a cylinder hone and some work on the head. Can more get messed up? Crank, bearings, rocker arms should be ok right?

Well, I broke 12 of my inner springs on my MMS stage IIx heads. I bought these heads last year about this same time.

How about you???

I bought them used off of a friend this spring and they went back to Morgan to be checked out and freshened up. So supposedly the springs on there were the "good" ones. Apparently not, about 1000 miles on them. 3 passes, 3 dyno pulls, and a big burn out that I hit the rev limiter in twice

usually, if a spring breaks, (best case scenario) the valve just jams it's self into the valve guide bent and the valve along with the guide would need to be replaced which would require an R&R of the effected side head. Worst case is dropping the valve into the cylinder, and thats a mess, basically a new head/s and short block would be in order because the dropped valve will pop a hole in your piston top. Just hope for the latter.
Good Luck
Joe.

Have to see what happens when the head is checked. Might be time for a 360 shortblock

My MMS heads came with dual springs which were MMS springs. These MMS springs are all bad. The only good side about it, only the inner springs were broken. Therefore, no valves dropped.

But when I had to purchase new Comp Cams 918 springs from MMS, one of those broke in 100 miles and a valve got smacked by the piston and the valve was bent/stuck in the head.

MMS should have warrantied those MMS springs but they will not.
