Tear down has begun!
I spun the cam a few times but you could hear lifters falling back down on it however i thought I'd try to spin it while pushing the rods in. I was having to force them inand it didnt seem right. I got the passenger side all the way in but one rod would still move a little when i spun the cam. (weird) I wasnt sure how that happened so I freaked and took them out. I'm just going to go buy 16 pen magnets to hold the lifters up for me.
BTW. When I use the pen magnets... After I remove and install the new cam, how do I get them off? I cant just pull the pen mag up until the lifter catches something and breaks loose can I? cant the lifter fall out of it's nittle hole or something? Or does that not apply on these motors?
Does this one bolt HAVE to go back in? Can i leave it out wiht all the others in? I dont see the point of putting it back on.

Yeah that bolt is a bitch, i left mine out as well.
Be careful if your going to use pen magnents. Make sure you buy very good ones. Sometimes when pulling the magnent off of the lifter, the magnent will pop out of the pen and get stuck to the lifter. Its a huge PITA to get it, if your lucky. This happened to a buddy of mine. We spent nearly 5 hours trying to get it off the lifter.

Those damn plastic screws holding the weather stripping are Shhaarrppp!
The passenger side coil pack bracket has one bolt that you cant even see it's so far back there.
Unless you have a gimp like the bulter in scary movie II who likes to play with dead chickens' penisies and vaginies, it's a nightmare.
If I go to wal-mart, what size dowl rods should i get? What length should I make them?
If i get the rod all the way in, is there anyway possible that i might have missed one lifter? I'm asking because i had the passenger side all the way in but one push rod would dtill move when i turned the cam.
