what size cam are you running? Running a Comp XE-R 228/230 .588/.591 114+1 with milled AFRs and .040 cometic gaskets.
what hp do you peak? Peaks at 6400 and makes 446/411, still on the stock LS6 intake and self-ported TB.
what rpm is your powerband in? The setup pulls hard from the getgo....no "waiting" for it to get going.
how is the drivability (rpm surging, engine idle/dying etc)? As close to stock as you could ask for, besides the lope, but thats a good thing.
do you wish your cam was smaller or larger? Nope, wouldn't change a thing if I could.

I'm thinking about a larger cam 238/244 or 242/244. My camaro is not a DD anymore, only sees summer time. The car is used for car events, cruising and of course the track!!!
Thanks guys, its greatly appreciated!

what size cam are you running? 224/224 .551/.551, 112 LSA Crane Cam
what hp do you peak? Unknown, although its suspected to be in the 390's at 6K RPM
what rpm is your powerband in? Anywhere from 2K on, it pulls hard, which in my opinion is, from the getgo.
how is the drivability (rpm surging, engine idle/dying etc)? Im still on the stock tune, been that way since last March, and it hasnt stalled a single time. Course, it isnt exactly HUGE either...Idle is perfect.
do you wish your cam was smaller or larger? I wish I'd have gone up to a 228 or so, in hind sight. But, so far, Im happy with my "lil" 224 thats fairly unknown in the LS1 world (using Crane Cams, that is).

g5x4 just put it here. Like they said low 240 range. Man it drives great, I got gears to so I am babying it w/ no problems. I really haven't taken it much over 3,000 rpm yet and it is just fun to drive. I believe the rpm power range is 2800 - 7000 but it sure dont feel like a dog down low.

Running 232/238 .595/.605 (I think) XE-R on a 112LSA w/ ported/polished stock 241's.
Peak numbers in sig...
3500+RPM is ***** to the wall (for me at least)!
Drive-ability is great (I tuned it to be - 95% of surging gone, no stalling/diing, etc.)
If I were going to do it over, I'd like to have the power I make now come on lower in the RPM's and make some more torque. Only problem is, it becomes harder on the springs as you need less duration, but more/accelerated lift combined with the right DCR and overlap to achieve this (if I understand correctly).

ya, im looking at going with a large cam for my setup, car is not a dd and it is going forged rods and pistons while the motor is out with stock crank.
im looking to rev the motor out pretty good to make some power, i know piston speed on stock stroke at 8000rpms is right around 4800 fpm which is close to the limit, so i know im not going that high, plus i know thats pushing the limits on a wet sump setup. im looking to try to go strong 10s in a 3500ish pound 6 speed car.
the block is going 10 over and hopefully ill have a set of afr heads if my budget allows.
anybody run any cams they are revving out past 7 grand, i know ls1joe revved out his stock bottom end car pretty high, and i know thunder racing revs out their t-rexed car to 7400. just curious to see what you higher rpm cam guys are running

in regards to running high rpms.
Only run too where your hp peaks, no need to run past that!
Yeah some cars keep making power up to 7400 and the bottom end can handle that, but if your car peaks at 6100. Then set your shift light to 6100 and call it a day!

so I would like to know a couple of things:
what size cam are you running?
what hp do you peak?
what rpm is your powerband in?
how is the drivability (rpm surging, engine idle/dying etc)?
do you wish your cam was smaller or larger?
Thanks guys, its greatly appreciated!

what size cam are you running?
-226/236 .525 110lsa (ASA cam)
what hp do you peak?
-392@6100rpms
what rpm is your powerband in?
-3200-6400
how is the drivability (rpm surging, engine idle/dying etc)?
-drivability is great ( i drive it 300mi. per week), a little surging under 1500rpms, but no big deal
do you wish your cam was smaller or larger?
-neither, just wish I would've done it sooner!
