I have been a fan of TEA heads ever since I have seen them.

As an engine builder I feel that these heads are the best value out there. CNC porting, quality parts and not to mention attention to the right details that make them perform. There is a big reason that the Ford guys like them, because they flat out work. These guys realize that there are alot of other things to a head other than flow numbers and when you are seeing 400+RWHP out of 290-300cfm heads that says it all.

Put it this way, once I get time to build a engine for my LS1 Camaro the 5.3L Stage II heads are going on it, I haven't found anything else that fits what I am looking for that is of better quality.

JMHO,

Bret

I believe compression on my car went from 10.0:1 to 10.8:1 or so.

I run 91 octance at 10.85 CR, and I'm doing OK, no knock retard in 115 degree weather. My timing was even bumped up 5 degress.

The difference is that if you buy the 5.3L heads you'll have an extra set of heads laying around which you can resell I guess.

Core charges are around $300 from what I've seen.

My car is the one Brent is talking about. It made 420 rwhp and 396 rwtq with their 6.0L heads, a B1 cam, ls1 intake, FLPs, and all other boltons. Here's the Dyno. I'm very satisfied. Most other heads in this range are atleast $1000 more.

I can also vouch for these heads, I had the Stage 2's with a 222 comp and a LS-6 intake with no boltons expect for Stepped longtubes and Converter. I dynoed 389 rwhp and 430 rwtq on thier dyno. Ive ran the best of a 7.19 at 96.5 on a 1.55 60'. The best partial run in the 1/4 is 11.45 at 119 mph before the yank trans always gos out. So over all they are a great bang for the buck. Justin

The heads didn't need to be milled at all to get the 10.8:1 compression ratio. HOWEVER, I went with dished exhaust valves for their better flow, and dished exhaust valves lower compression ratio by .2-.3 or so. To counter the lowering of the dished exhaust valves I had the heads milled .010
