Re: Why no gear drives for LS1's? Gear drives are typically very noisy. The harmonics they send through the block put the knock sensors in hyper-drive, which effects timing and other computer functions.

Re: Why no gear drives for LS1's? I've got a "quiet" gear drive on my 454 in my '71 and I hate that sumbitch ! It's just obnoxious and sounds like a piece of crap. I'm pulling it out for either a Jesel belt drive or a true roller chain.
